Emerging Ecosystems
Emerging Ecosystems is a work intended to inspire new recognitions of the novel natures around, on, and even within us. Three objects probe at an essential question: Where are entirely new ecosystems emerging, and how might we choose to relate to them now and in the near future?
Utensils — A collection of tools that propose what it may be like to consciously nurture the trillions of microorganisms living within the human body.
Tumble — An object designed to decompose. A material entity who roams the environment and deposits seeds along the way, in an effort to bring attention to unexpected, neglected spaces and their capacity for spontaneous life
Residence — A journal that challenges the native-invasive debate. A way of looking at novel plant species of the urban environment as immigrated, rather than invasive.
